help

Hey guys I'm real close to getting my car started but I forget where a few wires go. There is a black wire about 12 to 18 inches long with a circle connector on both sides. One side also has a black cap I'm pretty sure it goes on the hot post of the alternator but where does the other side go. Also how many wires are on the hot post of the starter, there is the one from the fuse box but does anything else go on there. I can't find any good diagrams and I checked out my friends 2.2 but hers was a little different and I could see everything with the plastics from the engine cover and stock air box

So i think i got all the grounds in the front of the engine correct. The car is cranking but willing start. Any ideas what I should look for, could this still be a grounding issue??

You don't have the engine grounds hooked up correctly is what I'm guessing

Can you tell me where all they are. I have 1 on the back of the head, 2 on a bolt by where the clutch line goes to the slave. One on the ac condensor bolt. I thought there was a strap but I can't find anything else. I'm not getting spark which I blame to a ground. So I dunno what direction to go.

Where does the second one come from. The only wires on my starter are 1. The alternator to the hot starter terminal. 2. The termianl on the fuse box to the same hot terminal on the starter. 3. The really little wire coming from the wiring harness to the 8mm post on the starter.

Still no luck, can someone chime in and possibly help with naming all the grounds.

ok one from alt. one from the fuse box and that little one on the 8mm post i believe are all hot. Then you have a ground under your intake and a ground on the starter and possibly one more

Isn't there a ground or two on the firewall side of the engine?? Also I have the ground that is from the harness closest to the ac condenser hook to one of the ac condenser bolts. Is this correct or is there another place it should go. I regret not taking more pictures but I didn't think it would be a month till i put the motor back in either.

Ok, so i'm still not getting spark and I don't know what to think. I have a code scanner and i'm not seeing any codes. I only time i did was when i had 2 plugs backwards due to a trial and error run. I have some questions to hopefully narrow down my problem.

1. If the crankshaft and/or cam shaft sensors are not working will the car still give spark when trying to crank or not.

2. Does the car have to be at tdc when first started?? I remember reading something about how it had to be tdc. I'm confused with how the sensors align with the computer to see where everything is at. I know after the engien starts and it runs for a while I need to do a crankcase relearn which I can do with trifecta. This is only after the car is started and up to temp. though correct?

3. What other issues would cause me not to receive spark.

Added information: Every fuse was checked, took a known good relay and tried all of those.

When I did first wire the car it would incorrect, when i pushed the clutch in it tried to start, so it was like it bypassed the ignition. Could this of blown something I wouldn't be thinking about?

Update, its running ended up being a fuse. I looked over those but it must of blew along the lines when rewiring. Can't wait to take it out.
