high mileage turbo or SC

I tried the search button.*
I have an 06 SS/NA. I'm looking at the ZZP kits, not shooting for high HP a conservative 200-230 for a DD is all im really looking for. Unfortunately I'm Creeping up to that 100k mile mark and I'm curious how well it will take to either TC OR SC. What upgrading on the engine would be involved if I wanted F/I for either application? I have read that 05-06 have forged internals which is a plus. How about a higher mileage tranny? (gearbox not viet lady boys?) Clearly I would need a stg2 clutch for the turbo but would OEM suffice for SC?
LOL SHOULD I PUT AN EBAY TURBO KIT ON IT???jk?!?!

Well, not being a mechanic I would say go SC if you don't want crazy power. If properly tuned and installed Turbos can be just safe as superchargers but you never know what you get with other people's work.

I'd personally go with a supercharger but that's just me, you'll get mixed opinion with this. For sub 250 horsepower a turbo is going to be a waste of money and time

!!!
I kinda figured going SC if im not looking for high amount of power. I did read that a sc cause s alot more parasitical(?) loss on engine life comparative to a turbo. my big question still stands on what would be better for a higher mileage engine and viet lady boy, Sc or tc.

What that means is you use engine power to drive the sc. The turbo is exhaust driven so it is "free" power

so in retrospect the the SC will kill the engine faster in the long run? Curious though because I've seen ALOT of high mileage lsj.

Not at all. It's just saying that the car will use some of the power produced by the engine to spin the sc. Check out the thread posted by mrbelvedere about it (https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/tech...theory-306935/). It's really just a different way of spinning a compressor. Especially with you thinking about doing it to a car that's NA it really comes down to the tune. A crappy tune can turn internals into externals really fast.

Supercharger is not more or less reliable than a turbocharger.

lol creeping up on that 100k mark, i boosted my honda a couple years ago at 186k and ran it boosted on 10psi up till 205k with no issues. All depends on how your maintenance has been and how you treat your car. GM motors go a long ways farther then they did back in the 80s, 100,000 miles isnt even half its life. My buddys GTP took 235,000 miles of hard boosted track abuse before he traded it in, and its still going strong.

I went SC at around 72k miles. Now at 86k, still stock clutch and no slippage as of yet. But I don't beat my car up. I only drive spirited getting onto the highway anyway.

I purchased a used kit off of a member going back to stock and I haven't regretted it at all. Just as stated above, get a good tune and you'll be fine as long as you maintain your vehicle.

I haven't dyno'd my car but I'm sure I'm at least 210-220whp which is a huge jump over stock.
