The deaership fills Corvette's with regular too, doesn't make it right either. Read your owners manual and you'll see the 2.4 can run on regular but its performance will suffer. It needs 91 or up up to give you everything it can.

Your gonna hurt your engine man. Just put 91 octane in it. In the long run you'll get better performance and better gas milage.

ok so along with all this 2.4 modding talk, would it be beneficial for me to get a tune even though right now i only have an intake? and if i get tuned and in the future get things like a header/dp would that mess up my tune at all?

yes, i think CAI, Header and cams will affect tune. i think exhaust will not tho

i think you'll see decent gain with only intake as well. to my knowledge you do need a retune for header so i guess it's better to do it all at once

there are 2 different spark timings for our cars, you'll only see worse performance if knocking occurs since it'll switch to a lower timing for lower octane....

You can scan the "difference" the difference is detonation. If you don't have 91 octane you compression ratio will cause detonation. If you don't feel a difference it doesn't matter.

And BTW, if you can't feel the difference bewteen 87 and 91 in your car, you won't be needing that intake or exhaust because you won't feel that either.

Umm...no, that octane table is not for "Low Octane" as people like to call it, it is the table to be used when your engines sensors go out of coordination. There is no octane sensor in these cars to tell it otherwise. If your car knocks 5* it will continue to knock, it will not just switch a timing table.

It's really there for MAF failure and things like that.
