Lightbulb An idea, re: cold air into your intake/airbox

This is my third time trying to post this idea Damn technology!

Ok I recently changed my bulbs in my headlights when after I noticed that the tube that runs from the airbox runs just above and behind the fog lamps. Has anyone thought about using that pipe with a few modifications to suck air directly from the lower grill area of thier car or even the fog lamp itself? (of course it would work best with out the fog lamp).. I'm thinking there must be some flex tubing out there thats the correct diameter to fit!
I'm running a SRI from K&N with a heat shield and we all know that hot air in the engine bay is nada good for your engine etc So why not try this idea? I have some time off comming soon so I may give this a shot myself.

If you have any questions let me know..

check out 2.2 airbox mod with pictures. we have the same piping and we removed the silencer (the piping you are talking about) and one guy has added some piping, I have debated the same thing.

Actually my idea is much more complicated and gets air from directly in front of the car. Not that the air box mod doesn't work or anything I'm just getting more detailed.

why not just take out the headlight at the track, and have it rigged up right through the opening... Viola! ram air.

lol come on guys we have superchargers ram air will not help us very much the sc sucks way harder than we can force it back in i would be more interested in ways to cool the sc itself its like a big heatsink on the front of the intake. Maybe spray it with co2 haha

that is more of a joke than a serious idea. I have howerever seen cai kits for civics that look like an intercooler but where the intercooler would be it is a filter. Neat idea for na cars

ummmm..... this is the 2.4 section. reading > you

but as far as the pipe and fogs and all that jaz, the silencer is crazy restrictive, you can either just take it off, or if you want to get air from lower somewhere make a new pipe. but to go this route def. get that silencer off.

No one uses cool cans any more. Prolly cause like nitrous and the removing the headlight the numbers you run on the track do not resemble the day after day numbers of the car.

Ive seen something like what I think your talking about I think BMW puts it on their track cars. Does it cover the entire middle air duct and funnel into a tube that runs directly into a filter box
