Ingalls.

Im highly considering this. sounds like a cheap and easy mod. I have a few questions though before ordering (dont bother vendors...i buy all my parts through my dealer as a middleman, 17 year olds dont have credit cards)

1. Does this work with a stock air box? if not, is there any way to mod with the stock air box (its nearly winter so i would be foolish to install CAI at this moment)

2. Is it worth my money?

3. Does it actually improve acceleration as some have said? how so? does it make burnouts impossible?

4. Any supporting mods needed/suggested?

thanks all

1. No, factory airbox is in the way
2. Yes, definitely. If you want a way to help with wheel hop and dont want to use bushings, this is a great piece
3. Cant tell if it improves acceleration, but it definitely helps to get more power to the wheels during acceleration. I feel that on the 2.4s if you want the best improvement in acceleration you would need new tranny mounts, cause our tranny moves a lot during hard shifts (manual). You can still burnout
4. Lower it. Lowering this car is amazing, looks and feels so much better. Better tires will help too

Ingalls will fit on the 2.4L IF you have an aftermarket intake like Injen.

You SHOULD get the Turbo Tech Racing or Prothane transmission inserts also and install at the same time.

Also you might want to consider the Turbo Tech Racing Solid upper engine mount, instead of the Ingalls. They can be found at www.TurboTechRacing.com

so basically on a 2.4 if you want to keep the stock air box you're screwed when it comes to limiting wheel hop?

Not necessarily, you can get engine and tranny mounts. They are supposed to help

Seriously? Burnouts are pretty easy to do in this car

well the Turbo Tech Racing Solid upper engine mount requires a special intake too

as for tranny mounts, I'm not sure I want to have to install that

engine and tranny mounts seem to work better at dealing with wheelhop than the ingalls td. i have the ingalls and i like it, works pretty well for me so i'm not that interested at the moment in mounts. i've heard the vibrations are worse with mounts vs the ingalls td.

while i havn't noticed better acceleration with my td, i've noticed my wheels will spin more than before, before i'd just get bad wheel hop. also shifts feel a lot smoother than before, which is a plus too. i paid $132 (including $2 shipping) in a group buy and i feel it was money well spent.

It's weird. Ever since I upgraded to better tires and the ZZP midlength header/dp 2.5" I haven't got wheel hop in a long time. As for modding the stock intake, can you just take it out and add some piping from where it would normally stop and throw on a filter and aim it to the bottom of the engine compartment like a CAI?
