Jet Stage One
Jet Stage One
so, after my dilemma last week with the Jet stage 2 chip being fubared, I decided (since now they had it in stock and it's what I wanted in the first place) to pick up a Jet Stage one chip and install it on the Cobalt. so, jet describes their stage one chip as "optimizing the power and the economy of the vehicle"..... of course, that seemed a bit off to me but, I decided to guinea pig the cobalt and give it a go........ first thing I noticed was that during necessary accelleration (ie, merging) the cobalt has power on demand, and there isn't a.... well, best way to describe it is no lag in getting up to speed....... crusing around town is more fun...... now the main reason for this chip, the optimizing of fuel and timing for economy..... but, all I have to say is.... it actually did help.... I wouldnt believe it if I didnt try it on my own......... I used to average around 33 mpg at 65 mph.... now, the cobalt is averaging..... wait for it, 35.8 mpg..... I.... ****.... you...not..............
my final say.... and I dont want this to turn into a jet/hpt flame war...... for what it's worth, the jet chip gives modest power gains and modest economy gains...... sure, having the car actually tuned will get better results, but for a "canned tune", I say jet is worth the money

Glad to hear your stage 1 module gave you some performance gain too. Did Jet Chip, or the company you purchased it through, swap out the stage 2 module at no cost to you?
I reset my DIC and it shows I'm averaging 27.9 MPG in mixed driving. I haven't checked miles-per-fill-up yet to see if it is accurate yet.
jet was supposed to send me a paid package to send the stage 2 back to them to r+r, bu,t they still haven't, so I brought it back to where I bougt it form and ordered the stage one
