LE5 all the same?

Will a LE5 from a 2010 malibu fit into a 2006 cobalt N/A SS? Are the cams the same? I see different horsepower ratings quoted for various LE5's, is this because of ECU tuning?

The rods are weaker in the 08-10 than the 06-07. Besides that they are the same.

Yea it will fit and function the same, but as slowbalt said the rods are weaker. I put a LE5 from a 2012 malibu into my 08 g5 gt when i bought it. Had a seized motor and got a good deal with the malibu engine so why not. Only difference i noticed was the injectors. It had grey injectors, not sure if they were different (might have been a flexfuel car) but swapped them for the stock ones fron the g5
