Mods for a 2.4L G6

I was referred to this website, through a search that I did on G6performance.com, for good information on the "wealth" of parts available for the 2.4L Ecotec engine that is in my G6. I haven't found anything made specifically for my model G6, but I have read over there that some people have used intakes meant for the Cobalt. What I want to know is, does anyone have any idea whether or not there are products out there that will work for the 2.4L G6 even though they are meant for the Cobalt? I don't want to do anything crazy, just an intake to increase the gas mileage. Thanks for the help.

they are almost the exactly same car. just some minor appearance changes. so you can go ahead and get the cobalt intakes and such. just as long as its the 2.4 you are fine.

Ummmm, no. Your thinking about the G5. Intakes and exausts and such for a cobalt/G5 will NOT fit a G6.

That's what I tried, and they suggested dropping by here. I guess there really isn't anything out for these cars. Oh well, at least it's only my daily.

i remember someone saying there was realy only a couple intakes out for it. not a big aftermarket i dont think. you can prob get ur own custom exhaust if you really want though.

take a picture of your engine bay and post it here...i think theres a decent chance the 2.2 / 2.4 cobalt intake will work, i know 02-05 ecotec intakes were the same in cavaliers, sunfires, alero's , grand ams and malibu's. so if history repeats itself, i think it will work

things like exhaust, our headers will bolt up im sure, but if it will fit right would be the question, and cat backs..just get one at an exhaust shop made for it

things like motor and tranny mounts may work as well, GM likes to use the same part as meny times as possable

I wasn't even aware that a 4-cyl G6 was in production........I thought they were all V6's, lol. I need to refresh my GM knoledge more often. Can't really help ya as i've never really seen a modded 4-cyl G6......seen a few V6 GTP models that are sick..........but nice choice of car! I love the way G6's look..........very smooth body to 'em.

Good luck!
