Mods for around 200whp?

Hi everyone.

I have a 2008 2.4 Ecotec with automatic trans and I'd like to bump the horsepower up.

What mods are needed to get close to 200whp, at least 185? Would an intake, tune, header and exhaust do the trick?

Or should I skip the bolt-ons and look right at a non-intercooled base turbo kit from ZZPerformance?

Assume with either that I have 2008 2.4 tuning support and have a good idea of what I'm doing with the PCM.

All advise appreciated!

You will not get 200 whp with boltons. Go turbo, nitrous or supercharged

an intake header and exhaust with a tune will put you close to 185 i know ppl on here have really close to that 185 mark with bolt ons and a good tune the next step would be cams to maybe get you to 200 im trying this same build on a 2007 2.4 then im gonna probably go turbo

Thanks guys.

I've searched a few of said threads but there seems to be lots of internet dynos posted up, should be this, should be that, should be 220whp with nitrous etc. I read the ZZP 2.4 test session http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_...ws1.php?id=175 and they got 168whp from a mid-length header, tune, intake and LSJ throttle body upgrade with an auto transmission. Is this considered low by forum standards or about right?
