Muffler Opinion...

My 08 sport 2.4L's exhaust is obviously really new... So i dont want to replace the entire exhaust but just want to get a little bit more sound, i'm a big fan of borla and i think i'm thinking about just buying a Borla Muffler ( about 150.00 ) and then put a stainless tip on it to look like the stock one...

my question is... how much sound will i get from just swaping the muffler??

AND will it cause any problems with my motor? or sensors?? cuz i have bad luck with that **** loll

Sound depends on the muffler you buy, each one will sound sdifferent and be louder or quieter. I believe Borla makes the GMPP exhausts so it should sound nice. Most people like the sound of a Magnaflow muffler on the stock exhaust. I havent heard either just going off what Ive read around here, just giving ya a lil info. And a muffler should defiantly not throw a code, all it does it "muffle" the sound it has no effect on the engine or any sensors.

get the magnaflow part #11255... it will give you a nice deep tone, make it a lil louder(but not obnoxious), and best of all it wont sound like a bunch of pissed off bees.

150 for a muffler...waste of money to me. i would go with a catback better bends no bottle necks and sounds nice IMO. Borla are nice mufflers tho.

I went from stock to just a straight thru muffler on mine, and it got real loud. So I'd suggest going with a Magnaflow if you don't wanna be waking up your neighbors. Plus, the Magnaflow sounds really nice.

i think the ss/sc is actually 2.25 and the 2.4 is 2"... i put a 2.5" magnaflow on my stock exhaust and you could tell the pipes coming off the muffler where a lil bigger than the exhaust pipes

They looks like the same PN...Oh what do i win!!!lol
The exhaust on the LSJ/LE5 is 2.5" all the way to the rear axel, then it shrinks to 2.25" over the axle to the muffler

exactly.

which is why I had my muff man cut from the axel and put on 2.5 mandrel bent pipe with megan muffler. Dont know what performance gain over stock was with just the pipe since I did it with the muffler same time, but there was a nice difference.
