need help....cylinder 4 misfire

cylinder 4 on my balt is misfiring. first thing i did was check the spark plugs. one of them was completely burnt out on cylinder 4. i replaced all 4 plugs but am still getting the misfire. the engine sounds like it's putting and there is a whole lot of vibration. definitely sounds like it's running off of only 3 cylinders or something. not sure what else the problem could be. checked the coils and they seem ok. i also noticed that water was coming out of the exhaust. i was told that it could be possible that moisture got into the engine from a bad batch of gas? i had just filled up yesterday and drove about 30-40 miles before it started happening. any ideas guys? need help asap i'm at a friend's house in euless and i live in plano. hoping to fix the problem to make it back home.

A little bit of water out the tailpipe is normal on a cold start in cool weather - guessing that is not the case in TX in July. Water in the gas can make it run like crap (or not run at all) but it won't run out the tailpipe.

Check your oil, if it looks milky brown on the dipstick you have coolant leaking into the oil side of the engine - head gasket, cracked head, cracked block?

Swap the coil on the misfiring cylinder with one that is not misfiring, if the misfire follows the coil you know the coil is bad - scan should show which hole is not firing.

If the problem stays on number 4, there may be internal damage - ring land broken or some such. Compression test would not be a bad idea here.

That should give you a starting point, good luck!

id check the coil then the injector u could get some noid lights to check if the injector is getting a pulse water is normal at idle or perfect stoich 14.7-1 engines will produce water if the plug was really white then ya I'd say ur burning coolant or running really lean on that cyl start with the easy stuff first

i had a bad coil pack awhile back and it sounded exactly like this. i also have a code reader, so it was easier to diagnose and fix

my guess is that it is a pack. clear your code, then swap packs with the one on cylinder 3. turn the car back on and run around till you throw your code again. read the code and see if it's now cyl 3 that is misfiring. make sure you clear your cyl 4 misfire code b4 you swap packs, or you'll throw a multiple cyl misfire code (i did that )

new packs from the ship are ~80 bucks
