Cool New cobalt just wanting some feedback

I just got a new 2007 Cobalt SS (non-supercharged) about 6 months ago and the one thing thats holding me back from decking it out is the warranty from the dealership. I don't want to void it because it might come in handy later on down the road. Just wondering if anybody else had this problem (and what they did in then end) when they first got their Cobalt or any new car they wanted to upgrade. Thanks for any feedback I can get

you could probly just work w/ gm parts like the gmpp cat back and header and intake and maybe an sssc downpipe, but thats about all i can think of in the way of performance that can be done w/ warranty completely intact.
You could probly also get away with cosmetic stuff like wheels/tires, lip kits, new headlights, ect. but that can be iffy depending on how lame your dealer is.

i wouldnt go with the gm mainfold or exhaust...
their are dealers that are just awesome and some that are gay..
i had the dealer install an exedy stg 3 clutch for the balt, it was covered under warrenty.

if u are going to mod it, looks up basic, like intake, header, exhaust, and u got a 2.4 i would go with a 50shot.

Yah stay with gmpp or Find a sweet dealer. I have the same Cobalt and I have decked it out (Some What). And If something breaks just much sure you keep the Stock parts. Just put the Stock stuff back on when you take it back to the dealer. Works everytime.

You can do just about any mod as long as it isnt the DIRECT/indirect cause of your failure if you have one.

Wouldn't a 50 shot void your powertrain? Thats considered a turbo or super by your dealership isn't it?

Sure they have to prove the part is at fault, but thats not hard for them to say "your o2 sensor crapped out which means your nitrous is at fault because the extra power caused extra heat .005 deg C above its operating temperature so you have to pay for it. And we can do this because we have the contract." Dealerships are NOTORIOUS for this kind of crap.

You could take them to court but youd probably end up at a loss anyways after all the fees...

My dealership voided my warranty a long time ago. They voided it when I came in for broken wheelstuds (faulty equipment)....they blamed it on my aftermarket 19"s and my slotted rotors.....even though I had never once used airtools on it. But of course while they were under the car they saw the aftermarket header/cat-less downpipe/cat-back, the springs, etc etc.....and the mechanic ended up snitching on me and my warranty went bye bye. Hasn't deemed an issue yet though. The car has been plenty reliable.....almost up to 44k on it.

Don't you just love that? Did they void the entire warrenty or just parts of it? I assume if you have a turbo or SC they voided almost the whole warrenty right there.

ya the only thing I'm worried about is that they will find some way to void it anyways but idk anyways u wont believe this but I have to put it in the shop Monday for exhaust leak right were the down pipe is at and I just got out of the ER about 5 days ago for carbon dioxide poisoning so that sucked and I also have to have the roters looked at because after only 4000 miles they were warped and also some times it pops out of gear and makes a grinding noise which doesn't sound good at all and keep in mind it only has 16,000 miles on it and i got it brand new so far I'm not having good luck. O and my car had be hit twice by two different people and it was PARKED?!?!? lol i think bad luck follows me lol so I will try to get some pics up of that leak and my "Joey Mod" I did to my car yesterday

They can't void the warranty on your whole car. They can void the warranty on anything you changed, but that's it. I can't believe you actually let them do that, because legally, they're not able to.
