New header choice

http://www.clearimageautomotive.com/...obalt%20SS.htm

Clear image automotive has developed a header for us. They are done prototyping and are going to have it installed on a test vehicle and once that is done they are going to annouce and a final price but should be around 400 shipped he said. And the a Solstice with intake and exhaust dynoed the header before and after and gained 8 hp and 8 ft/lbs tq to the wheels. You can also see several pictures of the solstice header and it installed if you go the the home page and scroll down a little bit.

sweeet sweetness, seems like the main flange should be sliced and segmented on the header the same way it is on the stock manifold.

Yeah stock...Say you'd have intake and exhaust. That 8 will probably turn into 12...That 4 would only turn into 6-7...Get my drift.

Oh and btw, would this fit the 2.0 supercharged engine?

Now so you all dont' get confused the 8 gained is for the header only the intake and exhaust were what he had already done to the car. And this is also on a untuned 2.4. Tuned and it will make for very nice gains. And it should fit the 2.0, a lot of the headers already out have been fitted on all three motors so i would say it does.

Hmm....I'm still leaning more towards SCdyne because they have fixed their problems and are affordable.

Well, I have been trying to stay within the rules of the forum but everyone keeps posting my website. I sent my funds in on Thursday and was hoping to hear something by yesterday. If any of you moderators or founding members have direct contact with Jonel, please let him know I am trying to reach him.

Anyways, the header flange is 3/8" thick steel, not cast iron like the stock manifold, so it does not need to be slotted. All of our headers are built this way. Of an estimated 1,000 headers we have built, only 3 welds have cracked and not at the flange.

The power gains with our Solstice header was header only, no other changes and gains were at the rear wheels not the engine.

I dropped the first header off for ceramic coating Friday so the current pictures on the site will be replaced as soon a it comes back.

As far as affordable and competing with other vendors; we are $4.00 less than the other guys, which was not a plan. It just happened to work out that way. Every company needs to function and make a profit so I doubt you will see prices lower, otherwise companies would just be building and selling products for the sake of having the work pass through the shop to cover over-header and pay employees. It just doesn't make sense.

Anyways, we are waiting to make our official post. Come on admin! We're you at?
