I get pulled over for "excessive noise" violations all the time. Dosen't really bother me too much though.

I had the exact same downpipe you have (XTC 2.5" with Cat)
That rattle was coming from the flexpipe section. I know exactly what you are talking about I use to get that noise too
My #1 choice would be the Stainless Vibrant 4-2-1 Header & Downpipe combo with Highflow Cat.

that's very pricy compare to OBX, mmm maybe its not too bad slicing the dp up and add a cat there...

do you know any good place to do that install? my last place is such a rip off and charged me almost 200 for installing header and dp....

I was charged $160 and that was all bolt-on parts
LSJ Exhaust Manifold & XTC 2.5" Dp
Your looking at $200 to $300 labour to install the OBX Header and to have a cat welded in
Keep your XTC shorty Header and get the ZZP Stainless Steel Dp With Magnaflow Cat for $199 ($20 Extra for bolt-on 2.5")
I prefer magnaflow cats to vibrant anyways

ahh so pricy, i need to stop buying toys for my car...

i read from other posts saying that if the installation wasnt good it will cost the dp to rattle too. so i'm going to go back to the shop and let them check on it. hopefully they can fix it...

how do you like the OBX header? does that mean you're running catless now?

No I'm not running catless the OBX Header came with a flange that you weld very close to the Stock LSJ Catalytic Converter
I've had it for a few months now and no problems
No Leaks
No C.E.L.

Shorty Header will give you the most Gains in the High end Rpm's
A longtube header like the Vibrant 4-2-1 will give more in the low end
I went with a Mid-lenght because it gives you a good mid range increase that is more usable in daily driving situations IMO

You got it backwards shortys are good for low end TQ, and long tube headers are good for high end power.

No, other way around. Best combo for raw high RPM power is a big tube shorty with a large collector. Low rpms need longer tube lengths to provide better scavengin, because there is a longer time between cyl exhaust events but the exhaust pulse speed is constant. As revs increase, the optimum tube length gets shorter.

Thankfully, I don't race people at 2000 rpms, so I don't mind using a relatively short header.
