p2801 Auto Tranny sensor

I just popped DTC code p2801 - trans range sensor B CKT Range/Perf.

I noticed it after redlining 2nd gear in my 2.4 auto. With the combination of my higher voltage to the e-rams and my Wester's tune the revs now jump to 7k where it shifts to 3rd. Not racing, just a normal WOT shift to get around a moron who can't drive. I hate idiots on front of you entering the freeway at 45mph when cars are whizzing by at 75-80. Who are they going to rear end? Not me.

Has anyone else gotten this code or know what it means?

Yup, That's what the scan guage read. If it triggers again, I'll post up. But I think it's just a fluke. It shows up as a cavy code in the book. Wierd, I know. That's why I asked if anyone else experienced this anomoly. It's an 06 by the way.

Check your battery terminals for a tight, uncorroded fit. Also check the battery voltage at low rpm and with the engine off. Mine did this too - tc going on and off irratically all the time. It was a defective negative battery terminal. I replaced it with a new, conventional type terminal and problem solved.

When the computer experiences low voltage one of the first things it turns off to conserve power is traction control. Remember, GM (and other manufacturers) buys batterys from the lowest bidder, so the OEM battery is not the highest quality. Plus the battery can run down and sulfate at the dealer, while sitting on the lot.
