Pacesetter Exhaust?

Hey guys.

I might look into a cat-back come summer-time. Anyone on here have one? I have a few questions.

1. How does it sound? Really...

2. Alot of interior noise?

3. Highway driving bearable?

4. WOT sound, thumbs up or down?

5. Can you take off that effin' yellow stripe on the tip?

6. Overall quality? As in, is it built like a Kia or a Cadillac?

Thanks!

after having one on my Cavalier, I WOULD NEVER buy a pacesetter product again...Sounded like **** after about a year, rusted like ****...IMO pacesetter/monza suck ass...

to answer number 6...I'd say more like a Daewoo or Lada.

I haven't heard too many good things about Pacesetter. FLP, Hooker, and SLP makes good headers (although I dont think any of those make them for our engines).

Honestly, Sally, if your looking into modding your car, I wouldn't be too concerned with interior noise and such. But, I guess thats my opinion.

Actually, interior noise is alot more important than you'd think. I thought the same thing when I got my Accord a few years back. I loved how the exhaust sounded. But on the highway, driving like 5 hours to Baltimore, all that droning could make you throw up. and that was on a 5 speed. Trust me. If you don't think interior noise is a concern, you're crazy. Especially on a daily driven car. I mean, if it was on a mess around car, I wouldn't care. But my monte exhaust is about as much as you can sanely take on the highway for long periods of time...

i don't think that i would ever purchase another pacesetter product. people here have spoken well about the header, but i don't know if i have heard any praise for the cat back... there is a reason it's half the price of the others.

I guess I can see your point, I usually have my radio pretty loud (heavy metal = the only way you can listen to it). But I see where your comin from. The 4 speed drones more than the 5 speed too, lol.

I love mine. Only downfall that I've noticed in the past 10 months that it's been on, is that when you clean the exhaust tip alot, like I do, the chrome plating starts to flake off. But I replaced it with a stainless tip. No rust, the paint will burn off, but I just refinished mine with hi-temp. Sound is great, interior/exterior/WOT.

You pay for what you get.
If you want an exhaust to last long it needs to be stainless.
Chrome sucks.
Interior resonance SUCKS for long distance driving.

Go Corsa!

i have a pacesetter header and monza cat back and ill say this. header is great for the price, it just looks rusted. the cat back is great and if you double up on the rubers and weld a washer on the ends its great no knocking rubing sounds just engine and exhaust yes you can get the sticker off just razor it then carb clean it with a rag. if you dont care how it looks as far as underneath as rusted looking its not that bad. at 65 mile an hr. its a low tone. and it adds a little performance.

Yeah, my friend got some crazy JDM manufacturer exhaust on his CRX (Tanabe) that cost like 800 bucks, but DAMN does it sound good! Cheap usually does equal shitty quality, but my original muffler on my Accord was a Ractive Fireball that was like 80 shipped and it sounded great. So it all depends. But thanks for the responses guys!

Ill have to listen to this when I get home.

Didnt sound to bad, the GMPP sounds better but its to small for me. Is the pacesetter 2 1/2?

i've had no problems with my pacesetter, fits perfect, sounds great... i put a resonator in, vibrant 12', which cost 50 dollars... that got rid of all the rasp, and it sounds amazing now... so, for a total of 220, i got a kick ass sounding exhaust... zero signs of rust... i check it often, still looks new... it's holding up MUCH better than my stocker did... and yes, it's 2.5... for the people that haven't had one RECENTLY, they've come a long way with their products... at least this one... at the big meat last year, plenty of people were surprised when they asked what exhaust i had and i told them the pacesetter... i would recommend it...

I'm just owrried about getting this and it sounding gay. I love how Cobalts sound with exhausts, but mine's auto. Yeah, I know. I'm auto. STFU. lol. And all 4 cylinder autos with mufflers sound like ass. Literally.
