PCV System - Question anyone?

Which direction does our PCV system flow in?

I read somewhere that it sucks air out of the intake pipe, through the little rubber pipe connected to the engine cover, and then blows into the intake manifold AFTER the throttle body

This Cavalier guy had a **** load of oil in his intake mani:

Many pple here have installed oil catch cans without collecting a drop of oil, since they connected them to that rubber hose on the intake manifold
This would make sense since no dirty air is blown out of there...

I put my finger inside my intake manifold last week and it got oily and dirty

Where exactly is that PCV hole that they're referring to on our engine? (after removal of the intake manifold)
- PICTURE ANYONE? -

06/07 2.4 L intake has a removable metal plate and gasket assembly that has a hole drilled through it -- that is the PCV orifice. I think the 08 2.4L manifold is a drilled hole in the manifold itself like the 2.2 intake (has a small removable gasket around it -- both are located between the inner intake ports).

There is little you can do to keep oil out of the intake as the PVC sucks air in from on top of the Valve cover. Sometimes oil just finds its' way in...by hard braking/cornering, piston ring blowby, etc.

A catch-can keeps the oil from making it to the TB by way of the VC-tube to intake-tube hose.

well most pple that put catch cans on their 2.4's at that location haven't collected any oil from what I have read on here

what if you put it on the other tube? (the one that connects directly onto the intake manifold)

They haven't looked in their intake manifold lately the PCV hole in the intake sucks directly from on top of the VC -- there is a baffle plate but oil still can get through.

There is no place to put it -- the hole in the intake matches up with the hole in the cylinder head -- you'd have to redesign the intake.
