Point at which power kicks in

Ive noticed that in the lower RPM range my car does not seem to have much pull until about 4k then it decides to go. It almost feels like the car is struggling to move at the lower RPM. Any ideas why? Only mod if a K$N intake and B&M shift+. I thought maybe tune but Im not sure if other experience this.

You need a tune. Your car limits torque below 4k and also has a timing dip right before hand. you are just experiencing a programmed delay in power. Get it tuned to get rid of it.

The Jet Chip Performance Module has gotten rid of that "DISAPPOINTING" and IRRITATING" low end lag until 4K RPM in my Cobalt! It also occurs if you do not have the car in "L" (if auto equipped) because any wheel spin kills the performance via the TC system.

Bullshit...

The lack of reaction is due to GM's tune for both EPA gas mileage and EPA emissions. There is a big delay as to when PE kicks in and has NOTHING to do with "torque limit".

Psykostevo: Direct question... Having had the opportunity to scan one of your LE5 "toons", why does the Commanded AFR hit in the 9's on a hard pull??

Umm....its called owning a not so torquey 4 banger....be glad you dont own a civic...they dont do anything down low....on the 2.5 pulley my car sucked ***** down low...i was also rocking the stock timing table but tq management completely gone....our engine just doens't make that much tq...but honestly, in a supercharged fwd 4 banger, it's better to have less tq than more tq to help out with launching

It is the PE Delay. If you get tuned that gets "deleted" lol.

I don't think it gets deleted per say but set to a lower rpm. Could be wrong though. And whoever said VVT that aint it, our's doesn't have that severe change, its continuous. It was mainly designed for fuel milage anyways.

I can tune 07's, and have. The SS/SCs do not have the timing dip or torque management that the 2.4Ls have.
