potential issues with 3 inch headers, downpipe, and cat back??

not to sound like a (i) but I was talkin to a buddy of mine and told him about how i was thinkin about putting a 3 inch header, downpipe, and cat back on my 2.4L and he told me that i would have trouble with my air/fuel mixture and that i would have to replace my fuel lines and fuel injectors with larger ones...... idk if thats just bullshit or if there is some truth to it..... anyone wanna help me out and let me know if this is true?

you won't have to replace anything, but you would lose a lot of power since you don't need that giant exhaust on a 2.4

i would do some research, and don't listen to your friend. has nothing to do with the amount of gas or air/fuel ratio. but 3" is way too big like said, stick with a 2.5" unless you plan on going turbo.

thanks for the help.... i wasn't sure but figured that air/fuel mix didn't have anything to do with it.

it actually does affect your AFR but your stft and ltft are more than enough to deal with the change...

and yes go 2.5 not 3"

big exhaust are good oly for tubro cars as a turbo and exhsut works hand in hand. on a s/c car you better off with a 2.5 header or you could go 3 inches on that and dp from like zzp but then go 2.5 back for the back pressure. the supercharger is mech driven so it doesnt really work hand in and wit exhaust. the turbo more air it feeds faster it needs to get out. thats why subarus go with 3 inches

so a 2.4 without a tc/ sc would not benefit from a 3" dp?

Unless "ridiculously loud" is a benefit... No.

STFT and LTFT wont effect WOT fueling, which is why in order to see the most gains from any mod you need to be able to tune for it. With that many exhaust mods you will be quite lean at WOT so you wont see the peak performance gain you would as if you were tuned.
