oh i know there are cheaper ways to get intake head and exhaust but i am not wanting to void my warranty just yet, i only have 6,000 miles on the car. that is the only reason for GM parts now.

Go search one of the supporting vendors for the GMPP parts and you'll save a lot of money.
ON CED the GMPP Exhaust is $545 while if you were to buy it from the dealer it'll be $700+. Whatever you buy from the dealer will be marked the hell up.

basically the dealer can and will void your warrenty if they want to, doesn't matter if the parts are gm or not. seriously, if you're very concerned about your warrany, (sounds like you are) keep it stock. or, get it in writing from a dealer that everything will be ok. it's very easy for a dealer to blame whatever they want on any aftermarket part you get.

I purchased the GMPP intake and Sport Exhaust because those were the parts that I wanted. I installed them myself so I do not have labor costs. If you want the GMPP parts, get them from CED and take them to the dealer to install if you want them to warrant the labor. Unless you are an employee of the dealer or related to someone that is NEVER buy a performance part from them as they will a$$ rape you on it.
I know alot of people on here have puchased the GMPP exhaust manifold, but honestly I never would. You can port your own if you want to stay with a manifold or do the right thing and buy a header. The CA short V1 header seems to be a good deal for those that do not want to replace their down pipe or want to peice their exhaust together. Otherwise I suggest the ZZP Mid Header / DP combo.

And I quote "You only void the warranty on the parts you remove or replace"
Not trying to start a fight, but if he listened to you, itd be like "Ya..your going to void your warranty, so go and get aftermarket anyway".
Federal law states that a warranty company can/will only void your vehicles warranty ---> IF <--- the said part was in fact the cause of the issue.
Ex. My Turbo kit....i cant go into a stealership and get warranty work when i blew a hole in my block....or i fried a piston.
An Intake allows the car to breath, thus wielding HP/TQ gains...but no additional stress (within reason).
An exhaust/headers allows the car to exhale its..well..exhaust. thus wielding HP/TQ gains, and again, no additional stress.
Your basicly "limiting" the engine of its potential by adding restrictive headers/exhaust/intake.
IF your engine were to break due to the power increases of an intake/headers/exhaust, it will be covered due to a flaw of the engine.
Turbos/Superchargers/NOS all add additional stress than what the engine was designed for...therefore no warranty.

GM parts are really pricey. If your worried about voiding warrenty just do lite mods that can be removed easily like a CAI. The GM short ram intake is like 300+ I believe.

There is nothing wrong with what he wrote. Re-Read it for yourself.
The warranty does not cover that manifold that he replaced with an aftermarket header, it does not cover a bad aftermarket cat, it won't cover that aftermarket exhaust. So by saying "You only void the warrenty on parts that you remove (basically what's installed now)" looks fine by me and I understand where he is coming from. And of course if those parts that are factory are removed, of course there isn't a warranty on them!
Thanks for knit-picking tho
oh ya .... ?????
