Problem shifting into first

Sometimes when im driving and waiting at a stop light for a while, i put it in neutral so i dont have to hold in the clutch, then when the light turns green i put it in first, but sometimes it doesnt go, it just stops. It's like its just hitting , i push my clutch all the way in, and it still wont go. This has been happening freaquently, sometimes i can shift smooth, other times it just doesn't feel right, and wont even go into first...i got my tranny fluid changed and it didn't really help, any ideas? anyone else have this? im a 2.4

Sounds like a tooth to tooth match. Let go of the brake. Let the car roll an inch. Try again.

Or try shifting into second, and then back into first. That works every time for me.
