Problems with resonator removal

I mean, it's gotta be there for a reason right? What are the advantages and disadvantages of doing this.

It makes it quieter and have less drone. Removing it will do the opposite.

I hear it can let the engine drag in much warmer air with high ambient temperatures and actually lag the engine a little bit. Plus, if you bring your car in for an engine related issue, regulations aside, some dealerships might be gay I think.

they can't even see it, unless the guy puts his hand under your airbox and really looks for it.

plus the airbox inlet (where it connects to the resonator) right in the hole where you would put a cold air intake tube, so the air isn't much warmer

like others have said, it's for sound

you guys should really specify between intake resonator, which is actually called a baffle, or an exhaust resonator. It seems like some of you are talking about the intake while others are talking about the exhaust

removing the intake baffle just makes the intake a little louder. Dont expect a lot more noise, or any more power..but its a free mod!
