Smile question about changing out motor

ok well i have this friend who had a 98 corvett motor and trans and i was wouldering how much trouble would it be too put it in my cobalt ss 2.4 l

just an fyi, u know ur fwd right? because vette motors and trans are meant for rwd. Just some food for thought...

If you are going to undertake a project like that, at least start with a better motor, get an LS1 at minimum. For that motor, get a camaro or something with a popped engine and toss that in there, you will be much happier and it will be cheaper.

it is an LS1 if its out of a 98 corvette

youll need a full tube chassis and a welder to start...

Ive seen 2 diff cavilers with RWD v8 setups. I know the guy with the second gen had to make a transmission hump and a Y frame dealy to support the engine and transmission.

If people can drop a 351 Winsor into a focus, this is posable. But you would need a compleate coil over suspension, customer dtives shaft, motor and tranny mounts, rear axel, breakes. It would be a fairly involved swap. But anything is possable.
