I was thinking about purchasing a GM extruned manifold and was wondering if you acutally notice a difference with it on, i have a gm intake and thats it, is it worth it, and im assuming i need to purchase that kit for it to install it, from crate engine depot, thanks for any info

 

I like mine, been on for 3 years, no problems.

anything helps over stock.

now come the header only folks.

 

i dont think that one is worth the money...there are others that are better and u get better gains

 

Considering the 2.0 SC uses the same manifold, as the 2.4, obviously if it can be used to produce 205 ponies then it is effective on the 2.4 at 171-173 ponies. The extrude honed is supposed to flow 7% more on the 2.0 SC so it stands to reason that it will provide a bit more performance for the 2.4. If it were to provide a 3% increase in HP that would equate to 5 more HP.

If you are seeking every ounce of power out of your car a header is probably the way to go. But one disadvantage of a header is usually having to replace gaskets.
