If you want strictly a CAI...go with the injen, if you want a SR, I'd go with the GMPP. The injen can be a SR as well but it doesn't fit as well in SR version...it kind of just lays there with no real support. I have had quite a few issues with mine now.

Also, expect the "Use the search button" replies

i'd stick with CAI. truthfully, most of them fit just fine if you install correctly. i'm making a new video featuring my install and work on an ebay knock off CAI and it fit better than an AEM i installed.

but that vid is still a bit away.

The GMPP is a CAI if you add a hood scoop or the RKSport hood, and it doesn't run the risk of hydraulic locking the motor if you run through deep water.

Check out the links in my signature, including the one with a dyno sheet and numbers for the stock intake, GMPP intake, and GMPP intake breathing through a hood scoop.

Yes, I've been following what you've been doing for quite some time now. I'm not looking to cut holes or anything drastic like that....I like the SR option of the Injen but I've had quite a few problems. I fabbed up a bracket which has been holding it in there pretty well, so I doubt I'll have any more problems, but if I do, I'm either going back to stock or getting the GMPP and just slapping it on

the RK sport hood isn't bad looking... but fiberglass non-OEM panels for the lose.

I have the AEM cai on my car, and I love it. Its been on since October, and no problems thusfar, asdies from the occasional CEL.......but that dosen't bother me b/c my CEL is always on thanks to my XTC 2.5" de-cat downpipe. (and yes, I tried using a CEL eliminator, but it got ripped off, so i'd rather just deal with the CEL)

I think using the SEARCH button would have yielded your results as this topic has been gone over FOREVER.

However my 2 cents will tell you go for INJEN, it can be a cai and sr intake. Best bang for your buck.

Thumbs up GMPP Air Intake just installed...

http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...3-P1653C0.aspx

Well worth $262 US shipped

Just installed about 15 minutes ago. Took about an hour and I was NOT in any kind of hurry. Took a couple of breaks as the gnats are pretty awful in South Mississippi today. This intake feels and sounds great. Guess I'll actually have to clean my engine now that covers are off. I like the look and am thinking about leaving it that way.

L8r,
Jeff

P.S.-New image with fixed gasket and clean engine;~}

If you remove that gasket and re-install it with the ends in the middle of the long straight stretch at the back of the air box, it won't gap at the seam like that.

Not a criticism, just a suggestion

We need to get some comparisons between Injen CAI, Injen SR, AEM CAI, and GMPP SR. THose seem to be the best choices available right now.
I'm partial to AEM because as I understand it, it's a dry flow CAI and won't throw a CEL as readily as a wet flow filter (like the Injens) will; or the GMPP because...well.....I'd like to see a dealer void a warranty because of a GM part.

BTW, good linkage of the GMPP intake, I see they've dropped their price a good $50

Can you use the little piece that AEM made for their intakes that prevents water from getting up the intake? I've decided on the Injen, but i really like that safety feature...

yep, I've installed LOTS of intakes, this is the only one that has ever given me problems. It's not a big deal now though since I made a custom bracket for it.....
