rev limiter

i have a 08 cobalt with a 2.4L engine and when i rev it.... it only goes to 4K rpm. How do i get higher?

i heard i have a rev limiter, if so how to remove??

If your auto, and reving in netutal or park... *facepalm* lol that's your answer. Won't rev past that in park/neutral

pretty sure that's your stall converter taking over there.

...rumor has it that if you stay on the brake and gas long enough, the stall converter fails and then you can free rev while braking and gas at the same time. you should try it....

why would u wanna rev ur car higher then 4k in park or nuertral fast and the furios ?

That's not your "real" rev limiter, which is at our redline of 6,750 rpm. If you wanted to freely rev your car whilst not moving, you should have bought a real car, i.e., the manual (just kidding, auto guys). Having said that, there is no reason to rev your car at all, let alone above 4k... so I have reason to believe you are a ricer.

you obviously have auto... don't rev it... there's nothing gayer than "showing off" your 150hps of fury.

Thats at the wheels if your revving it in Park or Neutral you rate it at the crank so its really 171hps of fury.
