From the forum posts on an HHR forum they apparently do have a performance mode on the autos. Has a launch control and the engine revs out alot more than normal according to the posts i read. Unfortunately not enough info out there. Only way would be to actually drive one lol.

also, were you able to find any tcm pinouts or diagrams? I have been looking for one but have not found any. HPtuners has an option to switch TUTD from serial to hardwire, but had me wondering if the tcm has pins for TUTD. On the silverado it is set as hardwire, while on my car and other fwd cars it is set as serial

I can pull any schematic you need, just tell me what Year, make, model, engine & trans.

Here's an HHR auto post and video I found but not only can this be done in HPTuners, I would rather have a line lock so fluid isn't getting cooked in the converter by stalling it.

Q. so, i'm to union grove dragstrip tonight. i have an automatic. how does the launch control work & what does it do?

A. It allows you to have one foot mashed on the brake, the other mashed on the gas pedal. Essentially, it is a built-in stall converter that holds the RPM's at around 3500.

So then the HHR SS does have a different torque converter? I can only stall mine to about 2000. Not sure because i dont really stall my car as the wheel spin is too much.

i would much appreciate if i could get a diagram for the 06 malibu tcm and one for the 09 g5 tcm to compare. I found a post on another cobalt forum where a guy is trying to get tap shift to work on his auto cobalt. He bought a malibu shifter from an 04-06 that has tap up/tap down on it. The car uses the same trans and tcm as ours. Also said the cobalt bcm 08+ has the option for enabling tap shift with a tech 2. I can link the post but not sure if its against forum rules lol

I'll bet you can fix that with HP Tuner settings. I set my stall to 4000 and can just about hit it but boost starts to climb and the car brakes won't hold it... Look at your torque and abuse mode settings. Like I said...... Line Lock for me. I want to get another tranny to build based on the GM build with line lock. I did tranny's for 9 years so it shouldn't be a problem.

I have all torque reduction removed and all abuse mode turned off. Would it be under stall protect? I have that set at 2600 i believe

Also noticed the tcc was not applying until really late when cruising so adjusted it to apply earlier like stock. After a few adjustments feels really good but still cant find the perfect 1-2 shift part throttle. I get the shift feeling very hard. I have the shift time around .250 for torque below 155ft lbs and still feels harsh. I have 2-3 at a lower shift time and feels great.

also i think pattern A is for L on the shifter, and i believe it uses pattern z for it as well. Not sure about I Using those. But pattern B and x is used when youre in drive.
