Shifting the Getrag tranny?
Hey everyone, justa quik question pertaining to the 2.4L tranny.. When pushing in the clutch I noticed if I push it half way it seems to shift as normal I push the clutch in all the way and you get that stiffness at the end. Hope I'm making sense??
Is it safe to push the clutch in before it hits the floor or can I push it in half way? Sorry I'm really really tired and even I'm having trouble trying to make some sense of this.. but ya any advice would be helpful

Aside from that, for normal shifting you only have to get the clutch past the engagement point. On my SS/SC it's only about 1/4 of the way down. Best way to find it is to start on level ground with the clutch all the way to the floor, slowly let up, whenever it starts to engage and the car starts to move forward, that's the engagement point. When shifting, you only have to push the clutch past that point. Pushing it all the way to the floor does nothing unless you have a car whose engagement point is almost to the floor.

Not necessary, the only thing you have to push the clutch all the way in for is to start the car. If you look up near the fire wall, there's a button which is held in when the clutch is fully depressed and that allows you to start the car.
