Solid Start for Modding 2.4..
Hey guys.. Got a 2.4.. I just wanted to see what a solid start wold be to get good (and relatively cheap) power..
Mine's auto, which is sometime unfortunate, and sometimes not. But it's ok.. As for performance, I've already got an Injen intake and I use Mobil 1 synthetic oil. lol. I was figuring on getting a full exhaust (header back), synthetic tranny fluid, maybe a B&M Hot Shift, then a tune. How will that be? Any sort of HP ratings? I know I'm not gonna be able to beat a Corvette or anything, but I find my Cobalt very fun to drive, and with a few small mods I think it'd be a blast.. I'm not looking for 400 hp, just an even quicker daily driver..
Thanks!

I don't see why you didn't just post that in your previous thread you started about boosting: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-4l-le5-performance-tech-46/boost-questions-boost-noob-112309/
Definitely get an exhaust since it seems to be the biggest hold up on the cobalt, next to the tune.

Intake + full exhaust + short shifter was where I started. Then I lowered it, put on the Ingalls ETD and DC sports strut bar......and so on and so on...... Now its got basically every bolt on you can sport.
you're auto?? skip the shifter and get a tranny tune.
header really opens up these cars. this plus dp and exhaust with a tune and you'll have a surprisingly quick vehicle.
want a quick and peppy daily driver?? go with ^^^ right there and you'll have it

Nope. I'm done with the car pretty much. Just gonna tint it, tune it, and get my front camber corrected....and then leave it alone. I was gonna do some stuff with my stimulus package check, but some asshat hit and ran my car in my apartment parking lot, so now I gotta use that money to get my front bumper re-painted.
agreed thats were pretty much i am just w/o the suspension mods...dont want to boost it..next car will be probably stock boosted..eh who knows

Well the MAIN issue with the turbo kit is..well..4g's. lol. I have my car and my bike. That's already eating most of my money, so a 4 grand turbo kit is a tad out of budget right now.. But a few 300 dollar parts could be doable.. That, or maybe I should just sell drugs / rob people. lol.
