supercharge idea...?

well i wanted to go TC but im thinking SC due to $$ and im going to school soon, so i dont have that much knowledge on Tuning etc yet and SC's are simpler...

Question... is there any difference between a SC and a TC tune? or are they both kinda set up the same as far as boost levels are concerned?

Price wise how much would a custom SC kit be?

how much for a tune? and whats the easiest way to do it, i would love to start learning myself and do it myself but im gonna need alot of help..

granted this is just an idea in the making but i would like to move it forward

size pulley for 12 lbs boost? estimates on crank and wheel power\tq?
I want to say just under 240 with a tune

never mind,? cheapest vortecs out there are 2k? .... get a garrett for same price..? better idea?

you don't need 12lbs of boost on a 2.4 to make 240, from what I've seen. 8-9 should do it, i believe...check Beck's 2.4 SC build threads.

Look into Beck's threads, he basically documented the entire process of his SC build in 2-3 threads and even posted a how-to with a parts list...

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/how-beck%92s-2-4l-supercharged-build-walkthrough-80620/

That's his actual How-To

enjoy.

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=80620

his How-To SC a 2.4 thread...very well done, imo.

Another option...bit of a ride, but not too bad. Not 100% this is still openly available though.

Don't do 12lbs if u want to keep it reliable. 8 or 9 is more than enough. Ur tune should be done by someone who has tuned befor or actally knows somthing about it. That's where u will spend ur money. 2k sounds extremely cheap, but if u found the right parts at the right prices itd work. Turbos are much more fun imo, and are def cheaper to buy new. I'd say do more research b4 u go any further, u sound kind of confused. If you have any ?'s feel free to pm me

An SC install isn't necessarily simpler, just getting the components together is. The complex part anyhow is gonna be the tune.

If you aren't that mechanically inclined, you may be better of using some sort of kit.. and there aren't any SC kits.

Save your $$ and go turbo!
