Temp Gauge reading 208
where in the head, like. the side , or back behind the exhaust mani?

I was just stuck in traffic for over an hour in the snow and my temp went up to 219. I started reving the engine and it started to go down. What if I didn't notice the temp, would it eventually overheat or is that when the cooling system would start? It happened twice today.

After 230 is when you should start worrying.
idk y this thread is still goin ha but I'm pretty sure the computer dosnt command the fans on till 220 ish if ur that worried turn the ac on it'll turn the fans on cus its gotta pull air thru the condenser
Yeah, no doubt all the worrying here is why some manufacturers (cough - Ford - cough) put "stupid" gauges in their cars - they have like 3 positions, "cold", "normal", and "hot".... always points right up at normal all the time unless the car seriously overheats ... but it cuts down on people worrying (or wasting time and money at the dealer) every time there's the slightest fluctuation.
