We were contacted by UniChip as we need a photo, here is what they requested:

Unichip wants to make a harness for the cobalts, they think they have the harness already sourced. However they would like to get a picture of the stock ecu next to the plugs for the ecu. This would greatly help the cause. Pics are needed for the 2.0/2.2/2.4

Bottom line they stated this in an email:

"Well, we are looking for a picture of the ecu on a cobalt ss and a non ss cobalt, so we need pics of both, they should look nearly identical if not identical. But basically we need to see if there are 2 or 3 plugs on it"

Hrmm odd you'd think a company developing stuff like this would have access to service manuals/pinouts?

I was thinking the same thing, that they would have a car in their hands. I dont know if they are in the pre stages, and they they will source a car? We are just am passing it on so we can get the new product to market.

well im down for new parts, if i was to take pictures tonight where would i locate the ecu?

I think it maybe in the passenger side front fender almost directly below the headlight? It will be a box about 3" X 6" X 8" with a ton of wires.

wow that may be too involved fro me to do tonight, i was thinking maybe it was behind the glovebox or something

will try and find out tonight. fried my pcm and the dealer replaced it, so i go in tonight to pic her up. will see if they will show me where its at.

Driver side front plastic piece that is curved pull up and you will see your ecu I already sent pics this afternoon to Aaron this is for the 2.4 I have a 2.4 with 3 plugs. I dont know what the 2.2 has I never looked at the ecu when I had my 2.2 anyway it's the plastic curved piece just in front of the red battery cable hook up where the battery feeds the car, even though the battery is in the trunk...
