Upper engine mount s/c install

I'm planning my install of the m62 and I have everything I need except for I'm still not quite sure if the upper mount needs changed by looking at pics and at mine it looks like my mount is in the way of the new belt tensioner....? 2008 g6 idk if it's different from the balts but I doubt it.

Are you running the LSJ tensioner setup? It seem like it could hit, but when you get it installed youll see itll clear by an inch.

The LSJ tensioner is used with the LSJ alternator bracket. Do you have the alt bracket as well? Then your going to need 3 M8x1.25x125mm bolts to attach the alternator since the bracket spaces it out.

Yeah try to find a used one. The dealer wants $125 for one. I picked one up on CSS a week ago for $55 shipped. If you have anymore questions lmk. I just switched to the LSJ setup last week. Also...your stock alternator should work...I used mine.

Also try to find the bolts at a hardware store if you can for $3 ea...they are $8 ea at the dealer.

I know this is an old post but I have a 08 Malibu I'm S/C'ing and I had to grind off part of the upper motor mount and part of the cylinder head so that tensioner would clear!

When you say you removed the mount, did you swap it for a different mount or what? I've had success with grinding it down to clear the belt and the LSJ tensioner. Here's som pictures of when I started grinding before my dremel caught fire lol Name: 2012-06-17191542.jpg

I was running a TTR upper mount and it cleared fine so not sure on the stocker. When I said mount I meant the engine hook. I had to remove that and remove material from the mounting area for the LSJ tensioner to clear.
