Vector Tune - Updating with new mods?

Has anyone ever gotten their Vector Tune updated after adding new mods to their Cobalts?
If they do provide updates, what are they??

When I first got their tune, I had a GMPP intake only.

Now I have:

- Rebel CAI
- GMPP manifold
- LSJ downpipe
- 2.5'' mandrel bent catback

The only way I could get an update would be for me to drive there, about 9-10 hours away form where I live

Nope, because they send you a whole new ECM or you send your current one in.

contact vector - shouldn't be a problem

thers no reason you can't mail it in for them to update it for you...people mail in their ecms everyday

....what they wanna charge prolly won't be as much as the original charge (shouldn't be ) i'm guessing $50 plus shipping ?
once upon a time they posted prices for just such needs..... or offered a lifetime update price ? and did have different tunes depending on mods..( cai and exhaust mods ).they prolly already know what you need-don't need the car - they know how much slack you had and if its a nice to or need to "reflash" job ( peace of mind for an email or phone call)

i assume you're just needing some fuel for the extra air flow - while mail order may not be the optimum - and the delay waiting on the ups man may be a PIA......driving lean might not be the best case scenario either-

i'm guessing you don't have a WB and i'm guessing the better air flow has you lean - i have no clue how much slack your tune had as far as your tweaked fueling or if your car can simply relearn and compensate on its own- since vector did your tune - ask them what and how much $$

and you might not know how close you are to serious problems or if it is lean now.....thats just another guess and worth checking into
when i added an ic and bigger exhaust my car went scary crazy lean...( felt great but the wb said-->
. its a legitimate concern

and if i'm not mistaken since they lock their tunes - they'll be the only one that can help you- nobody else will be able to read or tweak your tune
ask them
since lots of people go on to additional mods - i assume its to vectors advantage to be reasonable - help you out and charge you for their work.......
sounds like you did prior business @ their shop but they do worldwide sales of the same thing by mail everyday

I thought that is what I said, Wither you order a second ECM or send your stock one to them and have down time. Vector's tunes are locked you can not read them, I know I tried reading a local guys car who has there tune.

They lock their ECMs, so you have to go through them to get ANYTHING taken care of.

i can't believe they can't update the tune

My car throws lean codes @ idle; he says he would need the car, which I understand, but I thought they woudl have dealt with that already and have preset tunes for my mods

i only have I+H+DP+E

i'd like to hear of one person that has gotten updates from them

i'm not bashing their tune, cuz it's real nice btw

If this were my car, I'd just reflash the ECM and get a local tuner or Trifecta to do a tune for you. I also find it odd they don't have an I/H/E tune. Maybe it's because you are lean, and they can't figure out why and want to look at the car...

Anyhow, why did you put an LSJ Downpipe? I'm almost 100% sure the 2.4 and 2.0 share every single exhaust component.

They don't.
The LSJ's is 2.5'', while the LE5's is a 2.25'' DP

it's the only exhuast component that's different

this whole update thing is bullshit I think

I'll believe it when I find someone that got an update

Damn, sorry for the hassle your going through. I almost went through Vector, but then I found a guy (BennyHHR) who didn't live too far from me who offered to tune my car via HP Tuners. Should I want a re-tune, i'll just drive 2 hours and voila. But yeah man, I hope you get everything straightened out. Good luck.
