I hear my front shocks when I go over a speed bump. Its like a hiss as the shock absorbs the bump, but the rear doesnt do it.

 

i hear the tick in my engine when at idle and i also hear the little tick when i shut it off.

 

the ticking seems to be normal for these engines

 

yeah it seems like it.. theres nothing worst though than the noise the subaru 2.5l makes

 

the tick when you shut it off is the exhaust.

 

the rear suspension uses torsion bars....

my new 2.4 is quite compared ot my old car... you wanna hear a noisy engine, i'll post a sound clip of my 98 2.2 cavy... sounds like a whisk beating eggs in a metal bowl.

 

i feel your pain, i have had the same problem. but i cant get it to make the noise at the dealrshit.

i get it too. i put the car on a lift at my dealership. i went under it and yeah its comin from the back of my resonator. its the expansion of the pipin under cold weather. and im runnin 93. so yeah i guess its normal.

 

That knock you hear is probably the suspension. Its cold as hell here in cleveland and i hear my suspension creaking. Its only because of the cold though. Other than that i only hear ticks and not knocks...if that differs much. I run 93-94 octane. Mainly because it burns cleaner, at least thats what i am told.

 

I have that ticking noise too! It's only when the car is at idle. I thought it was spark knock and changed my fuel from regular 87 to 93 octane. I got more power but, still have that low RPM ticking noise. I think its here to stay! lol

 

sometimes when i start my car it sounds like the timing chain rubs against the vc for a short second its very loud and annoying

 

i had the same nose before i did my turbo i sent it in 2 3 times they never found what it was but when i did my turbo i changes my header gasket and my down pipe gasket and it went away ??
