Not to sound rude but why would GM make a kit for a engine/model when there is already a supercharger model that costs more money (hence more profit for them)?

yea i have had the supercharged cobalt for 2 months or so i really cant see there being a comparison to the 2.4. For most people if you are making payments odds are you probably arent going to modify your car. If het gets the 2.4 he will always wonder what if he had gotten the supercharged cobalt, if he gets the 2.0 he can argue about why having a supercharger is better than having an n/a 4 cylinder .

why would he need that? 2.4L handle awesome. Not as good as S/C but I'd say they handle 80-85% and they ride way nicer.

oh, and to the OP: Eibach Sportlines, 20% tint, Red interior trim, White gauges, 6000k HID kit, 8000k fog lights, White interior lights, Shorty antenna, Ingalls ETD, DC Sports strut bar, CAI, CA Header, Magnaflow catback, 34# injectors, tune
All of that can be done for a little less than $2500

true, so back on topic of the nasty beastly 13 sec. 2.4's.

so if i put a 75 shot of nawzz on my ride im going to go 2 sec faster in the 1/4?? dam i needz nawzz.

^statement taken from your sig....you ran a 15.0 correct? Well this ionninja character is speaking of a 75shot putting the car in 13s, are we talking a 13.99 here or a 13.01? because while i can agree to an extent that the car would prob touch 13's have you thought about traction and getting your wrong wheel drive to hook up?

Oh, I agree with you 100%. I think it would be quite difficult to break into the 13's with a 2.4, like you said, traction is an issue. As for the 15s in my sig, that was my first time on the track and it was a really weak launch. Id say low 14's are definitely a good possibility with the 2.4s. Im heading back to the track on sunday, so Ill post some pics and whatnot after that

Buy my turbo kit for $2000 shipped. Spend $500 on dyno time and HPTune to perfect the tune. I believe this set-up would easily get into the low 14's with a 5-speed.

if he was really smart he would either invest that money or put it somewhere else, because a car is something that can be totaled right in front of you, or many other things. I can understand people who are enthusiasts and drive sports cars, or restored cars and it is a hobby, but a cobalt is a commuter car with a little bit of go, save your money!!

yes 2.4 definatl i own the 2.4 from 2006. im runnin gm sport exhaust gm intake cobalt addiction header and downpipe. then i bought the 2.0 injectors and hptuners tune. she should be runnin 14.9 1/4 mile. and 185 hp i think will see couple weeks ill post my numbers. and yes im thinking about turboing the 2.4 maybe next year....... . it does look like the 2.4 will be pushin 280 with a good setup. and if i got new pistons and cams rebuilt the entire engine send it to JBP. i should get around 310whp. rough guess. so yes the 2.4 HAS LOTS OF POTENTIAL. it would smoke a 2.0 all day with a turbo if built correctly... well thats my 2 cents just lookin at things here and there.

i know theres i guy on here thats turboing a 2.4 dont know who though. but since you only have 2500 bucks you wont even be able to buy the whole turbo kit. well there really isnt one for the 2.4 yet!!. and if you are doing turbo. PLEASE only do it the right way. get new pistons and cams and then turbo kit pieces. thats should run you total price around 4k to about 7k maybe if you get some good deals. but 7k into my car and its not even paid off yet lol.... well thanks

ryan.

you're going to be really upset when you find out that my Saturn and your car are built on the same platform

and I don't see whats so hard to comprehend about this...

my 2.2 with I/H/E and a 75 shot runs 14's...you're talkin about a car that has 30whp more than mine from the factory, with larger displacement, higher compression, the ability to tune AND run to 7K right out of the box.

Sorry to break it to you but nitrous CAN take 2 sec. off your 1/4 time...have some first hand experience before you start questioning this "ninja character"

They come in white. I got by 06 2.4 ss in summit white. Also think about where your driving it. Even the 2.4 ss is going to remind you of every road imperfection. I have never driven the 2.0 but have heard it is much stiffer/harsh. If ride quality doesn't matter. Then the 2.0 is probably the way to go. It does after all have 205 horses stock and nice warrentied stage kits

I'm not getting mad at all or offended, I just don't have the patience for unexperienced and/or retarded opinions
