I want to get a muffler but i dont know what kind i should buy. Everyone talk about magnaflow mufflers, but are they loud because i want a loud muffler that has a nice tone to it. I have a 2.4 auto ss sedan.

I have the gmpp exhaust and love it. It is a bit pricey though. Best sounding exhaust imo. Even before I went sc it sounded amazing

 

What about a megan racing universal muffler? are they really loud?

I got a Magnaflow muffler because of the expected performance gains, but I also was told by a lot of people on this site that it's really loud. It really isn't that intolerable.. Not really loud, and it gives a nice tone, from the sound aspect.. As for the performance aspect, it's been talked about as (one of the) best ways to go for (comparably higher) gains

Your hp and tq estimations are way off lol and fyi mufflers will net you no gains. Catbacks might give you a few hp but not much

If you want it to be loud just take a drill to the stock one and blast more holes into the bottom of it.

He's right your #'s are MASSIVELY off! Hell zzp stage 1 supercharged auto 2.4's only put down 225whp.

Op the magnaflow mufflers are typically a good choice. If you want a decent tone thats not loud I believe zzp has a catback that you might like.

If you want something cheap replace the over the axle pipe (cti makes one that you can use with an aftermarket muffler) and choose the muffler of your choice.
