What PSI have sleeves failed at?

Yes i did search

Forging a bottom end over the summer and planning it all out,

looks like mcgee went @ 14 psi, zzp also ran a le5 @ 16 psi on a stock motor

any one else give me an rough idea?

weighing in on if i should rebuild a stock LE5, or just save the cash (and future headaches) and get the girdled gen 3 block from zzp.

goal is to have boost as low as needed and run meth, 350-400+

thanks

someone on the forums has been sleeving LSJ's I believe with essentially factory sleeves made of a stronger material, and mentioned something about getting it done on LE5's too. I would suggest you look into this before dropping a couple grand into a ZZP block, because i think that is built for way more than what you would need.

14+ I'd say. You have to remember that Mccgee was running an insane amount of boost making a minimum of 377 to the wheels.

Im sittin bout 13-14 via 3.14" pulley with the tvs.
No problems; I daily this turd and I am not easy on her.
I backroad bout every sunday for 2-4 straight hours
and every now and then on my day off during the week.
Also go to the drag strip on test and tune nights.

She still has full compression, and I will be doing a leakdown tomorrow to test out my new setup from my matco guy.

The plan for me is to stud the head; put on a 2.6" pulley and ATI OD balancer on; and let her eat.
Personally, Im not too concerned with the lower end till I pass the 400hp/tq mark
