What Would I Run?

I'm taking my car to the track possibly this weekend. I'm curious as to what it would run. It's an automatic and my mods are in my sig.

I'm thinking low 14's with the possibility of high 13's?

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. I've never ran my car and never have run a car period so that ties into it as well.

Yea, hence the higher than you expected times. It takes practice, just have a good time though, and dont worry about your reaction time at all, it will just mess with your head. Go when you feel comfortable. If you have questions, ask, they would much rather have you ask a question than drag water or such down the track. Lol

I'm just going to take a guess and say low 15 at around 91-92 mph.

Considering most stock autos are in the high 15's, I don't see intake and exhaust shaving 1 second off the ET.

you guys are saying 14's? and 13's??? come on man. auto 2.4 with bolt ons, you'll be happy to BARELY break into the 15's. i would say very high 15's, and there's a possibilty of hitting a 16. the auto kills the car. a manual base model with a good driver can beat a 2.4 auto.

Did you look at the link posted to track times? The two highest 2.4 track times are auto's.
And I'll give you mid 15's high 14's. I don't see a 16 happening unless you completely screw up.

mid 15's is my bet.....if the conditions are nice you might get a 15.3ish. The lack of a tune on the auto tranny will kill you.

Um did you look at that list.....those two auto's are both turboed so mute point. PPazz ran a 15.33 with same mods and a tune. So i'll stand by my mid 15sec guess. an auto 2.4 w/o tune will not run a 14 sec time just won't happen. I'm gonna say 15.6@89 if your lucky considering its your first time at the track will prolly be closer to high 15's.

So basically with an intake/exhaust...Ya, your springs will help you a little (.1-.2 at the most),

Im going to say...

Depending on your location, track prep...

mid 15's.

I agree with D4u2s0t, high 15's to low 16's. Especially with it being your first time at the track.

thats not really an issue being an auto though..ya know? Not much "skill" to hit the gas and hold on.

But for a good set of times (which I know people will argue with me...but you cant argue with results).

Drop Tire PSI (front 2 only) to 22-25 psi.

When in the burnout box, put in L(low), pull e-brake...hold the brake..hold the gas....release brake. It Should break the tires loose...feather the throttle to keep the car in 1st gear. if it hits 2nd(assuming the rpms still climb), the car will beep at you and cut power...let them spin for a good 5-10sec, then towards the end, mash the throttle, release the e-brake...so basically your flooring it out of the burnout box.

(its nice to let your other competitor stage up first while your still in the burnout box...so your tires are still nice and warm).

Stage up...car in L...left foot on the brake...right on the gas(floor it), this will bring you up to your stall speed(i think 1500-2k rpms...i forget).

on the LAST amber light...release the brake....1st gear...2nd gear..when mid way through 2nd gear...shift to I..then hold on.

NOTE: When Brake Torquing, it does cause alot of unwanted heat to your tranny, so its best not to hold it longer than 10sec.

So dont hold it and wait for your competitor to stage up...Only initiate the process when your competitor is has both his Pre-Stage/Stage lights on.

high 13's/low 14's from a bolt on 2.4 that'll be the day...

if that was out here you'd be running mid 15's...considering where you live though you'll probably run a low 15.

Low 15's if you are lucky. with a good tune you may see a high 14 but i doubt it.
