Who would win... 2.4SS or Impala?
Dear Mr. Frazier,
Thank you for your sympathetic understanding and your kind words of encouragement...
Ya Dick!
Just cause someone's a little slower than you doesn't mean that they aren't allowed to have fun. You make me bring to rememberance the words of my long deceased father on this fathers day " There's always a butcher for the hog!"
So if you wanna put up a little money, I've got an 11 second motorcycle that I'm sure will give your Bad Ass Cobalt a run for the money. And you know what? A stock ZX-14 Kaw will run low 10's all day - so what? You run what you got. Any true racer knows, you primarily compete with yourself and not the other guy.
By the way, Happy Fathers Day.

You guys really crack me up. Why do 65% of you guys think your car would win and 35% dont. This is not AN OPINION. Lets look at some facts here real quick. The impala 3800 would KILL an auto 2.4 SS. Hands down. No question. Get over yourselves.

Here, I'll supply you with facts......
Cobalt SS auto - 171 hp and 2900lbs - 16.96lbs per hp.
Impala LS auto - 200 hp and 3450lbs - 17.25lbs per hp.
Is 29hp going to make up for an extra 550lbs? No.
So the Cobalt has a slight hp to weight advantage.
Fact is these two cars are going to run pretty close. Impala is high 15s, low 16s at the track stock. The SS auto's here have been running about the same.

Good Call with the stats. I agree that the 29 Hp is not going to make up for the weight. However, The "Series II" 3.8L. Is that the same as the L67 Series II Supercharged version or are they both considered Series II, with the differnce being one is supercharged and one isn't.

2008 Cobalt Turbo
My Smart buy for my LS ends in 2008 so I am pretty happy about the turbo comming..Well possibly) but the 1 thing that bothers me is why they arent competing with everyone else and 4wd? I mean 260 Hp is great but it still put the cobalt on the bottom compared to the STI, EVO, SRT4 Caliber ....I know these cars are more expensive running at least 30 grand brand new .but the cobalt will still be underated compared to these stock turbo's...
