Why does my exhaust sound raspy???
I have a 2006 cobalt ss/na and it has zzp midlength headers and catted downpipe. The rest of the exhaust is stock except it has a magnaflow muffler but it is the street one not the racing muffler so it is not as loud. Anyway my car sounds fine except when you floor it and when it reaches 3500rpm and above it starts to sound raspy. I still have the stock reasonator and the car has been tuned. My question is why does it sound raspy and is there anything i can do to try and cure the terrible rasp without messing up my tune. I really want my car to sound respectable and not like a damn ricer. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

anything straight through is going to sound raspy, if you want to muffle that sound you need a "turbo style" baffled muffler that cancels the sound waves as it passes through. Might not be a honda, but its still a 4 cylinder motor, and they all hit a very specific pitch that causes that rasp in the higher rpm's.
