200hp cruze?

young guy at work has a cruze. nice wheels, some paint and dual exhaust. it sounds nice and looks great.

i had a chat with him about it. he said it has an intake and exhaust and says it probably makes about 200hp.

he said he wishes it had a cobalt ss motor in it haha

i said.. ya i have one of those.

does he have the 140hp or 180 turbo motor? If he is has the turbo one he may think he has 200 hp because of he is counting by crank hp.

Not in north america. Could a tuned 1.4 make 200hp with just a intake and exhaust?

Yes, a 200 HP cruze (at the crank) with the 1.4L turbo engine isn’t too difficult to obtain with a tune, intake, and exhaust system with a high flow downpipe/mid-pipe. A 1.8L naturally aspirated would be near impossible to obtain 200 HP without additional breathing modifications like cam work or porting.

the cruze 1.4 is maxed out stock. Modding that motor leads to "boom". Its not a real ecotec. Its a daewoo grenade.

Vince at Trifeca has talked about decent HP increases with the 1.4L. I’m sure it’s not as reliable as the 2.0L ecotec engines where users have added 100+ HP to the stock values without problem.

It's a 1.4L that get's good mpgs, provides good power for the size, and gives the user a powerband that is usable for everyday driving... I don't know why you would mod it at all.... But a tune is said to be good
for 180 horse and 200 torque. Or so they say.

i really do like the cruze, if they made a SS with only 200hp and NLS it would hurt

chatted with him today.

gonna post some pictures soon

he's got rims, strut bars, springs, shark fin antenna, intake, magnaflow exhaust with rear cat and muffler delete, trifecta tune, 12 inch sub and 1000w amp, tinted windows, rear tails.

again i will say the car looks very nice and sounds great. very deep growl and not raspy or wimpy.

i told him it's the nicest cruze i've seen.

we're probably gonna get some car guys together in the near future.

again pictures to follow soon i hope

well he's just going by what he thinks it has, idk if it not being tuned restricts the power like an intake on an lnf does but if not it may be close.
