The ST is ~3300 with no awd so I think 3600-3700 with awd. If they can make it 3100 I will buy one lol.

Right it's not the makers fault they weight a ton safety plays a big role. With all these recalls for safety it's making them add extra safety features haha

STi and EVO are 3,4xx and 3,5xx lbs if I remember correctly so they aren't exactly lightweight. I doubt this will be over 3,700 lbs but even if it is, 200 lbs more with 345 hp still gives it a superior power to weight ratio and that extra poundage can easily be offset with the suspension. I have no doubt that this will have no problem blowing either out of the water. Giving this 35 hp more than the Mustang means that Ford didn't hold back for anything.

I dont know if its the safety features that add all the extra weight. I'd lean towards the luxury additions. Look at the cobalt vs cruse weights, they safety features aren't all that different and they weight at least 200lbs more

But the new Cruze is getting a 250lb reduction so it's going to be similar to the Cobalt.

Lol they keep changing it. I still believe they will come in around 800lbs heavier than a LNF Balt which is going to dilute that 345 hp a bit. If they come in a decent price not 3700lbs and decently fast I will consider one. I keep thinking a 40K price tag is likely.

It'll directly compete with the Gold R and STI, both of which start at $35k and top out at about $40k. The RS will be right there with them.

I'm actually buying one of these. Can't wait! Still waiting on ford to open up preorders in my area. This is going to be a 500+hp motor stock internals all freaking day long. So exciting to see ford step it up and smash the hot hatch scene with an "american" sport hatch. Also, ford confirmed releasing multiple tuner maps and a high aftermarket pool for the focus. And maintain the warrenty. I cannot find it online though...

What's the point paying $35k for almost 3,700 lbs than $27 thousand 2016 Chevrolet Camaro 2.0T and pay 2 thousand more for EFR 7163 twin scroll and be very freaking happy!

If this car delivers what is promised at a less than $35K price I will be picking one up and I know SCT or someone will have tuning support for it ASAP so I will tune it and see what it can do on the stock turbo. They made a 2.3T 3700lb mustang run 11.8 at 115 with just a tune and slicks (I believe it made 353 whp on 93) The focus should make more power tuned and should be quicker because of its larger turbo and awd.

That's very impressive. That extra displacement is nice.

Yeah but I feel like the focus rs will be a good replacement for the Evo in the AWD turbo 4cyl in America seeing how the Evo stopped being produced now and Mitsubishi is gonna stop all new sales here in America

As much as I dislike Ford... it will put the hurting on the civic for sure.
