Wattage is 65 vs 55 stock, which will be fine. 500 Hrs for a 2100 LM bulb is pretty damn good...same as a conventional Halo. Extreme power is 1600 LM..nowhere near is bright as the Osram hyper. Also, how do you figure Xtremes will last longer? LESS!! See BELOW

Here..read this:
Osram Silverstar, Narva Rangepower+50, and Philips VisionPlus are all "Plus+50" H7 bulbs. Philips Xtreme Power and Osram Night Breaker are both "Plus+80"/"Plus+90" bulbs. They are, as a class, the best 55w H7s you can buy. But, Osram offers (and I stock) an even better option with higher output and longer life. Here is the comparison (figures at 13.2 volts):

Standard H7:
55w, 1500 lumens, 500 hours

H7 ultra "Plus+50" (any brand):
55w, 1580 lumens, 225 hours

H7 Xtreme "Plus+80" (Philips) or "Plus+90" (Osram):
55w, 1620 lumens, 200 hours

H7 rallye+65 (Osram only): <<<<<<<
65w, 2100 lumens, 500 hours, obvious choice.

The extra 10w is of no consequence as far as electrical power or heat --
those 80w to 100w bulbs are a different story, and they produce less light
and have a shorter lifespan than the Osram 65w item

Yeah...this is the only bulb to use for amplified lighting.... if you're staying away from HIDs.
I would NOT recommend using these for the high beams!

Osram 55W Nightbreakers on the LEFT...65W Rallye Hyper on the RIGHT:

Nightbreaker H7 left, Offroad 65w right. Light output 1,852,000 lux (measured 1m from centre of filament). 31% improvement.

Wall shots can be very misleading. Ive used Rallyes before and liked them a lot, and I know of a lot of other folks who swear by them

Got a question...
I'm looking to swap the h11 (55W) fogs for h9s (65W)...kinda like the Ralleyes which have an h9 65W on an h7 base. I've read that the h9s will fit into the h11 fog light socket with only a very slight modification (shaving off a tab). Any thoughts? This HAS been done on other cars. There's even a pig tail kit out that does this. I posted a pic on the *appearance* thread.

This, especially ones up close, not taken by a good camera, and you really cannot compare two lighting setups not taken side by side or in the same setting with a dslr camera.

Give it a shot.....my only concern would by if the H9 has a significantly different focal length, could cause some issues with beam intensity. Worth trying though

Well, I'm going with these babies for the fogs!
They are H11 65W Xenon!! I have read good feedback as well. Cheap, but reliable. They even come with a harness with heavier gauge for heat protection.

H11 HPX 65W bulbs

65 watts
- 15% brighter than a standard halogen bulb of same color
- produces less heat than halogen 65w bulb
- filaments last longer than halogen 65w bulb
- available in 3350k yellow or 6000k cool white for most applications

I just installed ZXE Silverstars. They don't seem to touch the road as the stockers much but really bright aiming onward signs which is a plus. They were $10 off too.

That just means they glare more

For those who use coated bulbs... They'll never be as bright as a clear bulb. They may SEEM brighter due to the bulb being white which is really just a trick of the eyes. If you compare them side by side you can tell the difference.

Yup....you cant put a coating on a bulb and expect to get MORE light out.

Good articles about headlights:
Daniel Stern Lighting Consultancy and Supply

Ive seen a few reviews about the Philips HIR2 bulbs, with 1800 lumens and around 600 hours of life. These are the bulbs I want to try next. I bought some hella 80W "off road" lights that I like but they are rated at 1250 lumens. I like the white light but Id rather take more light output over a "cool" looking headlight color.

Ya I've been considering picking up a set of hirs for my high beams in my evo. I already picked up a set of OSRAM CBI bulbs, the best HID bulbs on the market, might as well get the brightest high beams. Too expensive to do a bixenon retrofit on these cars, headlight housing costs are just rediculous
