2.4 crank 2.0 block???

Question 2.4 crank 2.0 block???

Can anyone tell me if a ecotec 2.4 crank would work in a ecotec 2.0, what else would i hafta modify to make it work?

It would work, but the 2.4 block is also a gen 2 block like the 2.0 and is just as strong, so unless all you have is the 2.0 block you would need custom pistons to work with whatever rods you decided to go with. The stroke would change the piston pin location. You would need a piston with the same pin location as the 2.4 but the same bore as the 2.0. This would all change if you use rods with a different length than the 2.4.

Why not a complete 06/07 LE5 bottom end swap? Make sure it is strictly those two years otherwise you get junk rods with it, and make sure it has the oil cooler option. You just have to worry about clutch/flywheel options

the crank relucter is different between the 2.0 and the all the others and not all 2.4 and 2.0 are gen 2 blocks

Both the LE5 and LSJ cranks use a 60-2 tooth reluctor wheel. Are you saying the missing teeth are not in the same position on the two cranks?

the 2.4 was the first gen 2 block so yes all of them are gen2. and after 08, all ecotec cranks use a bolt on 58x reluctor

i thought you said all 2.4 was not gen2 which is what i was correcting. i know 04-07 2.0 is gen1
