Don't quote me but isn't alcohol easier to access and maybe cost wise a tad cheaper. Also doesn't 100 percent alcohol burn cleaner and more efficient than 100 percent methanol?

I am no expert but as I understand it there are two types of alcohol used in racing METHanol and ethanol (as in e85)
both of which are commonly used in our cars
When people say they are running their cars on alcohol I believe that is straight methanol is that what your trying to do??

Just get an alcohol rated pump, iirc the rest of our system is alcohol compatible. Get a set of injectiors to flow enough and start tuning.

It would basically be like running e85 and should make numbers in the sane range it would just be easier to access then e85

What size injectors would i need considering I'm looking to boost around 16 pounds on low map n maybe 20-22 pounds on race map on my PT5558 turbo?

Dont get that statement around here e85 comes straight from the pump at various gas stations where as methanol has to be bought in drums from race shops /fuel suppliers etc.
Do you just not have e85 near you?

I know the one in mansfield stopped caring it. I ran it on my Mustang. I am not sure if the one in Crowley still sales it. I have a buddy that runs it and is down there. I guess I could just ask him. I hate not being able to find it. I really want to do it when I redo the engine on my balt, but I am afraid it will all be gone by then.

Heck we have more popping up every day here. But we also have 2 ethanol plants within 50 miles. One is just a few miles from my work and is right across from the Ignite racing ethanol main blending station.

Oh well I mean that's why I asked for opinions. I don't know everything about Alcohol injection(isopropyl alcohol) just figured it wasn't a highly highly talkld about topic. What makes it more maintenance prone?

if your talking about alcohal/methonal aka whats used in a lot of high hp applications your in for a treat. just like e85 it requires double the fueling, special rings, lines, pumps, regulators and so forth.

it runs colder and can ice up..... if you dont know a whole lot about it dont even bother attempting it.
