Block Filler???

Has anyone ever used block filler in their block? I know Honda guys do it in the B & D series engines. They'll fill the block with kosher salt, leaving a .5-1" space from the deck surface. Then they'll pour DEVCON Liquid Aluminum Epoxy/ Block Filler to the deck surface. Once it baked and cured, take the freeze plugs out and flush the block. I heard of B-series blocks making 700+hp with this done on stock sleeves.

I was looking to try this on a LSJ or a LAP block. I figured you could pour this on the bottom of the coolant jackets on the Gen 2 block and they might eliminate the cracking. The LSJ block would be cheaper to do and looks more likely to work. I have Gen 3 rods and piston to put in it afterwards. I was looking to making 550-600hp on stock internals. I'm trying to do a budget build without buying a aftermarket block or Gen 3 block.

They're driving them with no over heating problems. Some say it's stronger than a pressed in .5" block guard because you can make them thicker.
