Cooling Down Meth in Freezer before using?

empty the meth out of my res into a jug, put it in the freezer the night before track day...
wrap the res in foil, and pour freezing cold meth/water in there before hitting the 1/4 mile?

why not?

Would it get any colder than it already does though? It already gets freezing but interesting none the less.

50/50 mix has a freezing point of -50f
so it certainly has the potential to be colder.

no real cost involved, and its certainly not difficult to do...
every single degree cooler that the meth/water is at, is another degree of heat that it will draw out before it evaps.

Im definately going to give it a try.

when i ran meth, w/ my fire i just put ice in instead of water while at the track, worked awesome, temps were on average 10 to 20 degrees lower, ofcourse that was after a run, and probably was getting closer to a 90/10 mixture lol

so, is it just regular washer fluid that you can pick up at any gas station or auto store? I've always wondered

It will make it harder to evaporate though?!

But I guess in the combustion chamber it wont matter so the colder the fluid the better I would assume!

I should bring a bunch of dry-ice in a cooler from work (can get it free) we could put the coolant in there between runs...

The only thing that scares me about that is a small piece getting through to the pump.

harder to evaporate is good!

water/meth cools by taking energy from the surrounding air (heat) to turn from liquid to gasseous form.
so by simple logic, if said water meth STARTS at a lower temp....it will require more energy to evap.

not only will that remove more heat from the blower/intake mani, but by doing so, it should allow more to actually make it to the cylinder, and do more cooling there.

at least....thats the theory anyway

just put a jug into a cooler full of dry ice, like putting a beer on ice.

just skeptical.

but if you do freeze it how long does it hold that temp til you get to the track? will cool down considerably

these are all things ill be finding out tommorow
Ill probably take it in my cooler.
ill be insulating the resevoir too, to keep the temp low as long as possible.
plus my kit is trunk mount, which helps ALOT
