Cooling intake air

If you could weld a box around the intake and put dry ice in the box would it cool the air charge significantly or would it have no effect. Would something like this work?

I was thinking you could load with dry ice when you went to the track or dyno.

Meth injection is 200 bucks... cheaper at the beginning maybe but it gives you the added cooling, octane increases as well... and after the kit it's a whole $1 a bottle for washer fluid!

I'm sure it would work some but nothing like meth... It would basically only cool the intake charge air a bit but it would be instantly heated back up once it's compressed in the s/c. Meth kits can be bought now for little over 200 bucks... if you have tuning capabilities its the best money you will ever spend trust me

I have a meth kit, I was just throwing out an idea. I was just thinking that normally IAT2's are 30deg warmer than outside temp, if you could drop the intake air temp by 30 deg then IAT2's would remain lower.

Same concept, but we have a air to water intercooler so I'm not sure that would work.

they make a kit for the intake, not just for front mounts.
