Decisions... Advice?

So I've been waiting for the good part of a year to "finish" my car... (for a while at least). As I've been gathering funds I've just been waiting til I had enough. I have an 06 SS/SC with 40k miles, paid off, and aI TVS just sitting in my garage staring at me. I've gathered some other supporting parts here and there but not a lot. Now my question is... right now I have about $4,000, but lets say $3500 just in case. Now I know that's more than enough to finish my TVS build, but as the closest e85 station is about an hour from me, I don't know how well I'd be able to put that TVS to use. Should I sell my TVS and other parts and go Turbo?

I know most of you will be yelling **** yea go Turbo! But after selling the TVS and a few other things I'm going to safely say I'd have about 5500 plus whatever I save up til summer when this will all be done. Im looking for legitimate well thought responses. Is that enough to grab a good Turbo kit with whatever else ill need without digging myself into a hole? I've been eying the s252et Turbo swap kit from zzp but 4750 shipped to my door is cutting it pretty close. I've also considered trading it in for a SS/TC but I decided against it.

So what I'm asking is stick with the TVS and save some cash? Or risk it. and go Turbo?

I know someone will ask, but I don't really have any HP goals or anything like that, of course 350of or so would be nice but I just want it to be pretty quick, but arrestable, and obviously badass. I don't want to be disappointed with the TVS but Idk if I have the funds for Turbo. Thanks for any input guys.

to be honest 4k is plenty to do a turbo build. this guy is selling a complete kit minus the intercooler for 2500 and its a precision which is pretty nice

if you put together a kit it would cost you less than 3k, i would if you have that much money to put into ur balt then definitely go turbo especially since you can sell ur tvs for 1k. youll have plenty of money as long as you jus watch what ur doing. even if you go all out then thats plenty of money in my opinion. and youll be much happier with a turbo

My only problem with buying a kit from someone on here is not knowing whether it is complete or not, how good the parts are and such.

And I have considered Meth, but it still wouldn't let me use the blower to its full potential and it makes me a little nervous of there being a problem with the pump or running out and kaboom. I'm not that comfortable with it.

Ya definitely true of not being able to use the blower to its full potential. But if you run proper precautions like a pressure switch with an led light so you know your pump is working and set your ammunicator on your interceptor for KR3 its a safe set up.

No I mean you're definitely right. Its something to look into if I stay with the TVS. I just don't want to be disappointed without e85

Well by what your saying I would spend the little bit extra and go turbo. On meth you could probably make about 330whp with a tvs and stock motor. It sounds like you want more.

I just don't want to do all this work and still be looking for more, I mean I could always build the motor with the extra cash I have and see where that gets me with the TVS. But going Turbo I feel like would leave more room for more if necessary. Its just the cost issue, and whether I could actually put that power to the ground. I've seen good things with the TVS, some solid 1/4 times, most with e85 though but everyone is always shouting Turbo swap, I just want to know if all the hype is worth the extra cash. Or if I can even do a Turbo swap without worrying about not having the money to do it right

Well if you are questioning if you may want more then I would save up the rest of the money needed and do it right. You read about people trying to save money and cut corners with a turbo swap and then it just becomes a headache with problems. IMO a tvs is a great add on for a DD if you don't have access to E. But if you are looking to go real fast a turbo swap is in order. Zrated89 ran a 12.4@113 on meth with his tvs. You might be able to get a little bit more then that but probably not much. He was on a 2.7" pulley too.
